I've read "The Climate Fix' and note your point about the accessibility to cheap energy for the currently less developed part of of the world population. This could supply new markets and thus make a small carbon tax politically acceptable. How is this idea affected by the current developments with shale gas? Could shale gas be the cheap source of energy that would create these new markets and thus removed the reason for the carbon tax and the resulting decarbonization with new energy technologies?
