Should we open a Solyndra Museum in Washington DC? Will Obama and his minions show up at the opening? It certainly does take many failures to produce success, but with whose money? No one would have cared about the collapse of Solyndra outside of the employees and shareholders. It was the government subsidy of Solyndra that made it our business. Solyndra already WAS 'innovating.' Obama took money out of our pockets and put it down at the market roulette table. There is a profound difference between cutting business taxes and playing favorites. Obama's buddy Deval Patrick did the identical thing in Massachusetts with Evergreen Solar, and produced identical results.
Please tell us, as a matter of policy, how many times this has to happen before we can expect to see the blessed 'innovation' you are promising. the only innovation I see so far is a new, 'green' way to waste the taxpayer's money.
...and the Vasa ship, which I know well from having lived beside it, was government mandated innovation ;-) (re your previous Light Bulb post, and my comments on Innovation there)
Nice reading. However, the ship was built by dutch, not swedish, as You mention in section 1. And dutch were considered among the best shipwrights of this time. Not that this fact changes much.
