Roger, all press releases in mining stocks have to be approved by a qualified independent geologist - they are communications with the public.
As someone with knowledge of both fields, it is my opinion that news releases by climate scientists are far more sensationalistic and promotional than anything a mining promoter would ever dare to present.
I remain convinced that climate scientists should, at a minimum, comply with standards applicable to mining promoters, and hopefully be even more responsible.
It seems that universities themselves bear some measure of responsibility for the present abysmal state of climate science news releases.
